During the COVID-19 pandemic, clear, trusted communication was essential to public confidence in the UK’s rapidly expanding PCR testing network.
As Communications & Engagement Lead at Medicines Discovery Catapult, I directed communications for the Lighthouse Lab programme in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Care and the Prime Minister’s Office. I led national media relations, stakeholder engagement and public-facing storytelling that translated complex diagnostics into accessible narratives.
Alongside external communications, I managed internal engagement for a fast-scaling workforce operating under intense public scrutiny, ensuring alignment, clarity and consistency at pace.
IMPACT
Communications supported public understanding and trust in one of the largest diagnostic programmes in UK history, helping underpin the national pandemic response.
